I totally agree (almost) with the person who posted earlier. Yes, you have only 16, however, I know many parents who are control freaks, and have fear that the world is exposed to their children. They want to shelter and protect their children to the point of suffocation. I do not know if this is your parents or not. Often, parents want to instill in their children of parents ethics and standards at times, that the rules are obsolete and outdated to the point of not understanding and the absurd. If you are researching colleges and universities and who are offended by this pre-planning, perhaps you should ask to participate in helping to research before you catch it (or, ask if you can join them in their research). Ask them what their thoughts are about driving schools and ask if she will check out. Sometimes, communicating in an appropriate manner (not that this is the case with you) can go a long way to reassure parents that just because you are growing, does not mean they are growing away (the biggest fear of parents is not, at least as a parent, it's mine ). Ask if your boyfriend can come for dinner so that they know better and have developed trust. You can cry you are responsible, but some parents do not listen to words, but look at the actions in place. Hope this helps
